Shoot More, Post Less

Yes, the shutter count on my D90 is hitting 20K, and my D300s coming to 8k, but you can say a good number are experimentation shots, not real shoots. With these shots, you learn more about your camera, as to why our DSLRs tend to underexpose when it is forced to accommodate a huge dynamic range in a bright sunny day.

And I usually push half a stop EV up to counter that effect. Then, there is the 8 customizable banks on the D300s…which I just finally complete my configuration menu into 8 discrete shoot patterns, ranging from general photography to commercial low-light shootings. Lots of discovery I guess, hence, the absence of blog posts recently.

Been also taking this time of absence to contemplate moving to the Full Frame game, together with reviewing again…a good telephoto lens that can complete my shoot  range from 10mm to 600mm. As I said, I am looking for diverse flexibility, and not two fast glasses approach. The Nikon EVIL rumors are holding me back as I seek a smaller body that may really allows me to shoot well and light. The fact that the Panasonic GF-1 takes Nikkor lenses is already a distraction…

But in all, I am choosing my usual strings of destination to shoot this year, beginning with possibly Manila, Malaysia, Australia for Q1.

More to come…

Right, we are on the last day of the Lunar New Year celebration for 2010, and I would just like to shoot the moon and show you how round the moon usually is on this day.

70-300mm VR at 300mm. Aperture priority at F/11 (this lens’s sweet spot), spot metering.
