Nikon’s Revised Philosophy and Consumer Advice

Its with renewed interest that we are witnessing a new shift in Nikon’s philosophy in managing her product lifecycle, especially in enforcingĀ a shorter product lifecycle or shelf life, compared to her competitions lately.

Such move incite reactions from both end of the scale, leaving consumers in a state of confusion and perhaps even, distrust. Confused with a extensive choice of over thirty DSLR models to choose from, and somewhat disgruntled that their recent purchase has just got “old” prematurely.

Such move by introducing only incremental changes with each spec-bump (e.g. Nikon D7100, Nikon P7800, Nikon D610, Nikon D5300)) proves the above notion, forcing consumer like us to take a more prudent approach in our purchase decisions with Nikon. Nikon’s fancy in marketing each such minor improvements as a new product launch is both convoluted and self-defeating; and clearly warrants the need of us not to be caught between the jaws of such superfluous hype.

Malaysia Resort to Chill Next!

Work is simply too dry and a break every now and then is what we sometimes need. Perhaps, a little resort living wouldn’t hurt either. With just a bridge connecting the two countries, its probably a no-brainer proposition outside the concrete city.

I would soak in the sun (if any) as much as I can if that’s my only consolation before I head back to China somewhere in December to eat up the icicles awaiting me there…
